Ireland Confirm The Worst As Injury Update Issued On Joey Carbery
Not good.
Ireland have confirmed that playmaker Joey Carbery fractured his wrist in the 20-17 win over Fiji at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday evening.
No timeline has been put on Carbery’s return, but the 22-year-old Leinster prodigy is likely to spend at least six weeks on the sideline recovering.
This means he will of course miss this weekend’s final November series Test against Argentina, but more worryingly for Leinster it’s set to likely rule him out of their European double-header next month.
Meanwhile, John Ryan has returned to the Ireland squad having completed his rehab on a calf injury in Munster last week. The players who featured against Fiji presented with the usual bumps and bruises post match but are expected to be fit to train this week.
