Tom Farrell Has Been Tearing Up The PRO14 This Season & These Stats Prove It
One to watch.
Connacht centre Tom Farrell has been quietly tipping away in the PRO14 this season, almost under the radar. But one quick look at his stats in the competition will make you wonder why his name hasn’t been mentioned more often.
A product of the Leinster academy, Farrell set sail for England in 2016 in search of some regular first team rugby. His stint across the pond however, didn’t last too long, with Connacht convincing him to come back to Ireland midway through the 2016-2017 season.
Now in his first full season with the western province, Farrell has excelled alongside Ireland centre Bundee Aki, and his phenomenal stats this season prove it.
Farrell tops the PRO14 OPTA charts for carries (156), offloads (34) and defenders beaten (44). He has played 913 minutes in 14 appearances this season and also bagged himself four tries, and made 10 clean breaks.
No doubt one to watch. Still only 24 mind you.
