Eddie Jones Makes Shock England Call-Up

20-year-old Fijiian-born London Irish wing, Joe Cokanasiga, has been handed a surprise call-up to England’s training camp in Brighton.
Cokanasiga, who stands at 6ft 4ins and weighs 17st 9lbs, is one of two additions to Eddie Jones’ squad after a number of injuries following the weekend’s Aviva Premiership action.
The Suva-born wing replaces Exeter’s Jack Nowell, who has been ruled out of camp because of an ankle injury. Northampton fly-half Piers Francis (concussion) and Bath centre Jonathan Joseph (dead leg) have also remained with their clubs, as have forwards Charlie Ewels (Bath) and Harry Williams (Exeter).
Jones had originally called 34 players into a training squad for the camp. The camp will be used to begin preparations for England’s opening match of the NatWest 6 Nations against Italy on 4 February in Rome.
Among the original 34 players were first call ups for Bath Rugby prop Beno Obano, 23, and Newcastle Falcons’ openside flanker Gary Graham.
“This camp in Brighton is important for us to set the tone as a squad ahead of the Six Nations,” said Jones.
“We will need to improve if we are to hunt down our opponents and beat them. This tournament will be exciting and challenging, as we know we will play against some very strong teams.”
