Barbarians Pay Special Tribute To Anthony Foley Before Thomond Park Clash
A touch of class.
The Barbarians paid a special tribute to Anthony Foley last night, ahead of their much anticipated clash with Tonga at Thomond Park in Limerick.
The Baa Baas team featured five Irish internationals, including former and current Munster stars the the shape of James Cronin and Donncha O’Callaghan. In a close encounter, it was the Baa Baas who ended up coming out on top, with a 27-24 win over Tonga.
Before kick-off, the famous touring side replicated the tribute Ireland paid to Anthony Foley just over a year ago at Soldier Field in Chicago ahead of victory against the All Blacks.
The players formed a figure of eight on the pitch, a reference to the number Foley wore throughout his Munster and Ireland career.
