Championship side Bristol City knocked a third Premier League club out of this season’s Carabao Cup to reach the quarter-finals last night, with an impressive 4-1 win over struggling Crystal Palace.

Bottom of the table Palace had taken the lead through Bakary Sako’s low finish. But two goals in five minutes turned the tie on it’s head as Matty Taylor and Milan Djuric found the back of the net.

Defender Joe Bryan’s unstoppable shot made it 3-1 before Callum O’Dowda completed Palace’s misery with an absolute belted from outside the area. No doubt Martin O’Neill will have taken notice as he prepares his side for the World Cup play-off against Denmark next month.
