“C’est terrible, terrible.”

While Irish fans were busy listening to TV3’s Dave McIntyre shouting “it’s spinning, it’s spinning”, it was a completely different story over in France as hearts sunk in the final moments.

Ireland fans have been there in the past against France, so they know how it feels. It’s heartbreaking. That sinking feeling, knowing there’s absolutely nothing you can do.

But when it goes your way, it’s incredible. RTÉ’s Michael Corcoran summed up the mood of the Irish nation with his radio commentary. In contrast, France 2 captured the moment French hearts broke.
