WATCH: Eddie Jones Turns On BBC Reporter In Strange Outburst
But you won Eddie?
Eddie Jones’ England are still on course to claim an unprecedented third Six Nations championship in-a-row, after defeating rivals Wales 12-6 at Twickenham yesterday evening.
Two tries in the first-half from Leicester winger Jonny May proved to be enough for the current holders. But the game was not without controversy, as Wales had what appeared to be a perfectly good try disallowed by the TMO.
Despite the win, Jones was his usual odd self after the game, losing the plot with BBC Reporter Chris Jones. The Australian turned sour when the reported remarked that Mike Brown had a good game yesterday, after the Harlequins man was named man of the match.
Here’s the transcript:
Chris Jones : “He was good today, wasn’t he?”
Eddie Jones: “You guys tell me he can’t play Test rugby, and now you’re telling me he’s good.”
Chris Jones: “I don’t think that’s quite fair. Do you?”
Eddie Jones: “You guys are unbelievable. Fair dinkum! You’re unbelievable.”
Chris Jones: “In what way?”
Eddie Jones: ‘You’re always criticising him [Brown], and now he has a good game you’re all on the bandwagon!”
Chris Jones: “I don’t think you can treat the whole media as one.”
Eddie Jones: “I think we can. I think we can, and I’m sick of it, mate.”
Chris Jones: “Well you’re on for three Six Nations in a row and your record is pretty outstanding so from your point of view”
Eddie Jones: “And you guys are better selectors than we are. That’s what you think you are. And now he [Brown] plays a good game, you’re all on the bandwagon.”
Chris Jones: “Ok, but I think most people agree that Mike Brown was excellent today”
Eddie Jones: “He’s been excellent for 23 games for us. so I don’t know what was different today.”
'You're always criticising Mike Brown, now he has a good game you're all on the bandwagon!'
