No craic.

Former Ireland and Munster lock Donncha O’Callaghan is set to hang up his boots at the end of the season, after playing out the twilight of his career in the English Premiership with the Worcester Warriors.

O’Callaghan played almost 270 times for Munster, as well as representing Ireland 94 times and touring with the British & Irish Lions on two occasions. But he decided to make the move to England back in 2015, after falling out of favour in terms of selection with Munster.

His stint in England has been hugely successful, with O’Callaghan become an integral part of Worcester’s set-up, even being made club captain this season. But O’Callaghan says he misses Ireland, purely because the English are absolutely no craic whatsoever!

Speaking to Tommy Tiernan on his talk show last night, O’Callaghan as the comedian if he’d be willing to come over and give some of the English players ‘craic’ lessons.

“I miss it, I miss home; the English, they’re no craic. Tommy, I’m serious – they’re sound, they’re really nice people, they’re polite – there’s no craic.”

“Would you come in for a week and do craic lessons? Can I just put it to you? Just sit a the bottom of the dressing room and have a look, like. There’s nothing going on.”
