Sky Sports Pick Their Team Of The Weekend With Irishman Named Top Performer
What a weekend.
The European Champions Cup pool stages are officially over and we have our eight quarter-finalists. Only one English team has made it through, in the shape of holders Saracens.
Munster and Leinster both secured home quarter finals, while Ulster once again failed to make the knockout stages after being hammered by Wasps at the Ricoh.
Four Irish players as a result, have made Sky Sports’ team of the weekend. Munster duo Keith Earls and James Cronin, Leinster forward Josh van der Flier and Scarlets’ Tadhg Beirne are all included.
In a poll carried out on the site, Earls leads the way as top performer of the weekend, with an impressive 56% of the votes, with Hadleigh Parkes his nearest challenger on 18%.
