Ross Moriarty Set To Snub Scarlets In Favour Of Rivals In Shock Move
No thanks.
British & Irish Lions back-row Ross Moriarty is set to snub PRO12 champions Scarlets in favour of a shock move to Welsh rivals the Dragons according to a report by WalesOnline.
Moriarty is out of contract with Gloucester at the end of the season, and must move back to a Welsh region in order to continue his international career under the new cap quota rules.
According to the report, Moriarty is set to meet with Dragons boss Bernard Jackman this afternoon, with the region hoping to convince him to put pen to paper. A verbal agreement has reportedly already been reached.
The detail of any deal on the table is unclear, but the probability is it will involve a national dual contract with the Welsh Rugby Union, as Moriarty is highly-rated by Wales head coach Warren Gatland.
A massive statement of intent if the Dragons can pull this off.
