Ireland and Leinster playmaker Johnny Sexton has finally joined Instagram and Twitter and his first post across the two channels is bloody excellent.

When the talented Leinster outhalf first came to prominence, his battle with Ireland’s then first-choice outhalf, Ronan O’Gara, became one of the highlight’s of Irish Rugby.

The pair didn’t get on at first, such was their rivalry, but it’s funny how things play out, with O’Gara ending up as Sexton’s coach at French side Racing 92.

It was there where Sexton and O’Gara ended up striking up an excellent relationship, with their families also bonding during their time in Paris.

That being said, it’s fitting that Sexton’s first post features himself, ROG and their children, as they say goodbye to the former Munster outhalf ahead of his venture New Zealand with the Crusaders.

Two of Ireland’s greatest ever servants. Best of luck ROG. And welcome to social media Johnny. It’s never too late!
