Mayweather Vs McGregor Broke An Absolute Ton Of PPV Records
Record breaker.
UFC President Dana White has revealed that Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather broke a number of PPV records across the world.
The fight apparently did a whopping 6.7 millions PPV buys, breaking records in the USA, Canada, Australia, UK and Spain along the way.
The fact that it broke the record in the UK, even though it was on at 4am in the morning, truly is remarkable.
“We broke the record. The thing ended up doing 6.7 million pay-per-view buys globally,” White told the Wall Street Journal’s Unnamed Podvideocast.
“How about this — we broke the record in Australia, we broke the record in the U.K. at 4 [a.m.] in the morning — 4 in the morning we broke the pay-per-view record.
“We broke the record in Spain, Canada, and the United States.”
The fight also broke a rather unwanted record, by being the most illegally streamed fight of all-time.
“We broke that record, too. The most pirated fight of all time,” White added.
