Legendary Scrumhalf Peter Stringer Returns To Ireland
What next?
Former Ireland and Munster scrumhalf Peter Stringer has returned to Ireland, with Worcester Warriors deciding against extending the short-term contract he signed with the Premiership side over the summer.
Stringer, who is now 40, has previously said he would likely look to continue, at least until the end of the season. He has struggled for game time this season, with Springbok Francois Hougaard keeping him out of the side.
Director of Rugby Alan Solomons released the following statement.
Peter has returned to Ireland.
He hasn’t played for the side during my time here but he is very professional, trains hard and is a first-class guy. He has been good to have around the squad.
He has also had a great career, playing in some great Ireland teams and great Munster teams and has played well over in England as well.
What next for Stringer? Has he got one last run left in him? Perhaps a province make take him in or could he lend his experience to an AIL club?
