Not our fault.

TV3’s Six Nations coverage couldn’t have gotten off to a worst possible start on Saturday. The broadcaster managed to miss kick-off in their first ever game, as Wales hosted Scotland at the Principality.

Unlike other broadcasters, TV3 like to show advertisements just before kick-off, and have come under fire as a result in the past. It was a huge talking point when the screened the 2015 Rugby World Cup, and once again grabbed headline over the weekend.

A lot of people were fairly pissed off when the adverts ended on Saturday, and they realised the game had already started. Turns out it wasn’t actually TV3’s fault.

“We would like to inform you that the issue relating to the delayed start the NatWest Six Nations television coverage of Wales v Scotland which affected a number of broadcasters worldwide was not due to individual broadcasters.” A statement from a Six Nations spokesperson read

“There was a delay in delivery of the World Feed from the host broadcaster (BBC) which affected some of our partner broadcasters worldwide including TV3 in Ireland. This was regrettable but we hope that it did not take away from the enjoyment of what was a phenomenal contest in Cardiff. We will ensure that this issue is rectified and does not re-occur for future matches.”

There you go lads. Sorry TV3.
